MSLGROUP's Panel on Branded Entertainment and the Age of Viral Humor on Oct 28th in Miami

New York, September 22, 2014 :  Top social humorists and digital leaders from What’s Trending, Cultivated Wit, Fullscreen and Newcastle Brown Ale will next month join MSLGROUP’s global social and digital leader Stephanie Agresta at a panel session to discuss the growing use of humor in brand content strategies today.

“Winning with Wit: Branded Entertainment and the Age of Viral Humor” will look at how brands are investing heavily in content production and partnerships, enabling them to increasingly leverage humor and edgy pop culture to drive business growth.

Stephanie Agresta, global practice director for social and digital at MSLGROUP commented, “If you can make people laugh, you can get them to engage and buy.  But behind that certainty there are a bunch of questions marketers are asking themselves: How do you strike the right balance between funny and clichéd, quirky and creepy or witty and offensive?  Is it even right for my brand and our audience?  And what is the role of PR and Influencers in increasing viral pass-along?”

Panelists will answer these and more questions at the event at the St Regis Bal Harbour Hotel Miami, on October 28th at the Holmes Global PR Summit .  Joining Agresta on the panel are:

  • Damon Berger, the CEO of What’s Trending ; a Primetime Emmy-nominated daily, live center of the online video universe, bringing audiences the hottest videos and personalities every day. With major brand partners that include Samsung, Radio Shack, Virgin Mobile, AT&T, and distribution via YouTube, Virgin America, USA Today, and many others, What’s Trending is an exploding new media brand.
  • Brian Janosch, Creative Director and resident Midwesterner at Cultivated Wit ; a creative agency that combines comedy, technology, design, and whiskey. He has held several titles in media and comedy including writing, editing, project managing, product developing and web strategizing. Janosch is presently a writer at large for The Onion , where he previously worked for five years as deputy managing editor.
  • Quinn Kilbury, the Brand Director on Newcastle Brown Ale at Heineken USA. Kilbury feels fortunate to be able to turn his love of beer into a profession, having segued over to Heineken in August 2013 from PepsiCo, where he had spent three years, latterly as Senior Brand Manager. Prior to that, Kilbury held leadership roles at General Mills. He spent his early career days working on the agency side.
  • Jonah Minton, SVP of Sales at Fullscreen , a next-generation media company that offers innovative technology and premium services for content creators and the world’s leading brands to thrive on YouTube. Fullscreen's global network generates over 1.8 billion monthly video views and reaches over 100 million subscribers.
