Salterbaxter Holds Seventh Annual Innovation Day
Publicis Groupe Hubs around the World Join One Table Initiative to Help Eradicate Hunger
New York, 18, July 2018: Salterbaxter, the sustainability consultancy that is part of MSL, dedicated its seventh annual Innovation Day this year to Publicis Groupe’s One Table Initiative to help eradicate hunger, giving multi-agency teams in New York, London and Amsterdam an opportunity to support social entrepreneurs focused on the issue.
Publicis Groupe’s One Table initiative grew out of the commitment the holding company made at the 2016 Cannes Lions Festival when it joined with Dentsu, Havas, IPG, Omnicom, and WPP to form Common Ground, a five-year commitment to help the United Nations meet their Sustainable Development Goals. Publicis Groupe is championing SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Through the One Table initiative, Publicis is mobilizing the entire holding company to come together to do what it does best as communicators, creators and storytellers in an effort to help eliminate hunger.
So, at Innovation Day this year in New York, Salterbaxter offered its support to inspirational pro-bono clients: Swipe Out Hunger and The James Beard Foundation. Thirty people representing expertise from around the group, including sustainability, strategy, digital and creative from Salterbaxter, MSL, Sapient Razorfish, Publicis Health and Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness came together to collectively brainstorm and offer solutions to the organizations.
In London, 130 people came together to support nine social entrepreneurs focused on number of different societal challenges, including hunger. According to Lynn Dickinson, Salterbaxter’s Innovation Day lead, “The day exemplifies the role that agencies can play by working with inspirational social ventures to help them scale their positive impact directly in our communities.”
Similarly in The Netherlands, forty communication experts supported 3 social businesses: Chocolatemakers, Thuisafgehaald and Koeckebackers. Each business focuses on different aspects of the food system for example; a fair and responsible supply chain, and access to healthy and affordable food.

To be able come together for one day to work with organizations who are already making a real difference and help increase the impact they are having, is a real privilege. We’re always amazed at how much we can achieve in a day – as well have a lot of fun along the way.”
