Brad Wilks Joins MSLGROUP To Lead Midwest Offices

CHICAGO, January 28, 2013 - MSLGROUP has appointed Brad Wilks as managing director of its North America Midwest Operations, responsible for offices in Chicago and Detroit.  Wilks will report to Renee Wilson, president of MSLGROUP North America.  He most recently served as Managing Director and head of Sard Verbinnen & Co's Chicago office.   Wilks succeeds Joel Curran who transferred to the role of Managing Director of MSL New York in September.

Wilks will be responsible for all aspects of business strategy, performance, growth, client service and talent at both MSL Chicago and MSL Detroit.

Wilks has far-reaching experience.   At Sard Verbinnen, he served as a counselor to senior executives, managing important corporate issues such as restructurings and bankruptcies, proxy contests, litigation and crisis communications, product recalls and senior executive changes. Previously, for six years, he was the Managing Director and head of the Chicago office of Ogilvy Public Relations.   Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and Partner at Fleishman-Hillard.

While MSLGROUP North America's Detroit office focuses on the automotive vertical, servicing General Motors, one of the agency's largest clients, MSL Chicago has a diverse book of business that includes Delta Faucet, DeVry University and clients in the food and beverage category.  According to Wilson, MSLGROUP will continue to focus across an array of industries and practice areas in the Midwest.   "Brad's expertise and leadership will enable us to take our corporate communications capabilities in the Midwest and in North America to the next level and build stronger connections to the solid corporate specialties throughout the MSLGROUP global network," she said.

Wilks served as director of investor relations for Ball Corporation from 1989-1995, where he was cited byInstitutional Investoras one of America's best IR officers, according to a poll of security analysts and institutional investors.  He was previously chairman of the board of the National Investor Relations Institute, is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Executives Club of Chicago, the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He is also chairman of Goodcity, a not-for-profit incubator inChicago.  

Wilks has a B.A. degree from Indiana University and an M.A. degree from Ball State University.
